About this guide
This is a strictly nonpartisan voter guide for the Ashtabula County, Ohio November 3, 2026 general election. It contains no endorsements, no voting recommendations, and no partisan framing.
How It Was Built
The ballot race and issue lists were checked against the official Ashtabula County Board of Elections candidate list and issues sheet (both revised September 15, 2026) on October 11, 2026. Election dates and voting hours were cross-checked against the Ohio Secretary of State’s 2026 voting schedule. Candidate backgrounds, positions, and voting records are research summaries, not BOE data. Candidate statements are labeled as statements; they are not presented as independently verified facts. Sources appear beside individual claims where they have been checked. Other candidate claims are labeled “Claim-level source check pending.” Candidate research lists remain useful starting points, but do not by themselves substantiate every claim.
Verification
- 20 candidate races and 45 listed candidate entries or tickets checked against the official BOE candidate list
- 41 numbered ballot items (Issues 3–43, with Issues 1–2 absent from this guide); 36 are property-tax levies
- Seven named write-in candidates included from the revised BOE candidate list
- Selected statewide, congressional, state-house, county, and court profiles include claim-level sources. Five of the seven named write-in entries include at least one sourced campaign statement or candidate response. Renea Turner / Jalen Turner and Ron Ula / Michael C. Lehnerd are verified against the BOE list; this guide has not added sourced biographies or issue positions for those two tickets. Some other profile details and voting histories are still pending
- Issue, levy, and liquor-question source lists are available on their respective pages
